Acacia Chapter holds its annual Craft & Vendor Fair at the Paul Revere Masonic Center each fall. The date for 2019 is Saturday, November 2 from 10 am-4 pm. If you are interested in being a crafter or vendor, please contact Carol VanHofwegen (763-541-7807) or Kathie Brown (612-827-5760). The cost for a table is $30 for a full table or $20 for a half table.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train came to St. Louis Park on Saturday, December 10th, 2016, to support the local food shelf, STEP. Acacia Chapter was excited to be a part of this community activity by selling popcorn at the event, which was held in the neighborhood near the chapter. In spite of the cold and snow, our chapter members braved the weather and sold 140 bags of popcorn to the crowd. It was great teamwork as we needed a generator, popcorn machines, a food license, a canopy, and members to make and sell popcorn. The fourteen-car train, fully decorated in holiday lights, parked for about an hour and entertained the crowd with holiday music performed on a stage pulled out from one of the cars. We estimated about 1,500 people gathered for the event and brought food items for STEP. A great time was had by everyone; hand warmers sold by a local business were very popular.

The Holiday Train came to St. Louis Park again in 2017 and 2018!!! Acacia sold popcorn and hot chocolate. Both were very popular! The date for the Holiday Train in 2019 is Wednesday, December 11, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. (train arrives at approximately 6:00 p.m.). We will again be selling popcorn and hot chocolate in the municipal parking lot west of the lodge-just across the railroad tracks. And we made a donation to STEP to be a sponsor of the event.

All chapters in Minnesota had the ability to offer refreshments at State Rest Areas. This is a service to the traveling public and good visibility for our order. Acacia Chapter has done this several times at the Elm Creek Rest Area in Maple Grove by offering snacks or cookies, coffee, iced tea and lemonade or hot chocolate (the last time was April 20, 2019). We cannot charge for the refreshments but can have an optional donation jar.
